Meet GERALD
Gerald Morin, born in 1961 in the northern community of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, is a Métis Leader and lawyer, former president of the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MNS) and the Métis National Council (MNC). Raised in Green Lake, a traditional Métis community, and heavily influenced by his grandfather Leon Morin, he decided in grade school to dedicate his life to his people and to advancing Métis rights.
Gerald’s experience with the Métis Nation started in 1989 when he began his career as the Provincial Secretary of the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan, once completed in 1992 he then became the President of the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan from 1992 – 1995. Gerald then succeeded in becoming the President of the Metis National Council from 1993 – 2003 and then served as Vice President of the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan from 2012 – 2021.
